More than 10,000 people are expected to go through the doors of the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre this holiday weekend to see what’s in store at the biggest ever Scottish Home Show, sponsored by premium homebuilder Dandara.
Now in its fifth year, the three day event promises to be a one stop shop for anyone who is looking to move or improve with advice and inspiration available on everything from taking on your first mortgage to DIY, interior design and gardening.
Celebrity experts Tommy Walsh, Linda Barker and Charlie Dimmock will be on hand to give visitors and exhibitors advice in the self-build, interiors and gardening zones of the show as well as hosting live demonstrations on the main stage.
There’s also plenty to keep the whole family entertained this holiday weekend with supercars, cooking demos and children’s gardening classes on offer as well as the launch of some exciting new products.
Darren Ross, director of Scottish Home Show, said: “We are so pleased to be back in Aberdeen for our fifth birthday this weekend and can’t wait to welcome visitors to what we are sure will be our biggest and best event yet.
“This year we have more exhibitors than ever before with many offering exclusive discounts to visitors and there’s also the opportunity to see new technology and innovations including upcycling and recycling demonstrations.
“We would like to extend our gratitude to our main sponsor, Dandara who has supported the event since the beginning. We’re also extremely thankful to Tommy, Linda, and Charlie who always bring such a great energy to the show and work tirelessly to make the event a success.”
The show welcomes back many big name brands, including AGA, Baxters and Scotframe and introduces some exciting new companies including Unique Tables, Royal Bank of Scotland and Strutt & Parker, with more than 230 exhibitors expected in total.
Peter Best, head of sales at Dandara in Aberdeen, says: “We’re really pleased to be supporting this fantastic event for a fifth year and we’re looking forward to welcoming visitors to our stand at the exhibition.
“The friendly Dandara sales team will be on hand to chat with visitors about our beautiful homes at Hazelwood, Fairley Grove and Stoneywood, and the benefits of buying a new energy-efficient home built to deliver the ‘Dandara Difference’.”
The Scottish Home Show will this year be raising funds for the Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI). Aberdeen has one of the oldest lifeboat stations in Scotland and for over 200 years the crews have been saving lives at sea, as well as inland during flooding, and they have been honoured with 26 awards for gallantry.
