Scottish Golf Tourism Week has announced a new venue and headline sponsor for the 2025 event.
The three-day event formed in partnership between DC Thomson and VisitScotland will take place on March 18 to 20, 2025 at The Chester Hotel, Aberdeen, in association with Luxe Scot.
This marks the event’s first visit to Scotland’s third largest city, after the major success of last year’s event in Inverness.
Speaking about next year’s event, Cara Munro, head of events at DC Thomson, said: “We are delighted to bring Scottish Golf Tourism Week to Aberdeen for the first time in 2025. After the success and overwhelmingly positive feedback of last year’s event in Inverness, bringing the event to Aberdeen was another positive step in the event’s progression, and continues our commitment to deliver the recognised commercial success and impact of Scottish Golf Tourism Week to golf-related businesses across the whole of Scotland.”
The 2025 event will mark the eighth edition of Scottish Golf Tourism Week and will see Luxe Scot - the luxury travel provider - join as the headline sponsor.
Additionally, the famous North-east newspaper, The Press & Journal, is welcomed as partner for a second year - continuing their pledge to support golf and golf-related businesses in the north and across Scotland.
Alan Findlater, managing director of Luxe Scot - the headline sponsor of the 2025 event - added " Luxe Scot is delighted to continue our partnership with SGTW for the third year.
Aberdeen is our hometown, and we are looking forward to showcasing the very best of the city and shire as the events luxury travel partner. As a company we understand the value of creating and facilitating exceptional experiences within our travel, hospitality, and golf industries. Each year we welcome growth in these sectors, celebrating the success of partnerships and developing new opportunities for all to prosper."
Stephen Gow, general manager of The Chester Hotel in Aberdeen which will be hosting the event commented: “Aberdeen City and Shire is a leading destination for global golf tourism which brings significant economic benefits to local businesses and communities. Scottish Golf Tourism Week will bring international golf agents to the region to experience not only our excellent courses, but our quality accommodation and the area’s scenic and historic attractions. Golf tourism generates income for individual businesses, employment and enhances the profile and reputation of our region and we’re delighted that SGTW recognises the importance of this sector in bringing the event to Aberdeen for the first time.”
Also speaking on the benefits of Scottish Golf Tourism Week being held in Aberdeen, chief executive at Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce Russell Borthwick said: "It is a major coup by DC Thomson to bring Scottish Golf Tourism week to this region. Our city and shire boast some of the very best golf courses on the planet and this is an incredible opportunity to showcase these and the many other things the area has to offer to tour operators and related suppliers from across the world.”
