Hundreds of schoolchildren will be among those to benefit from enhanced safety education and awareness following a successful link-up between two North-east organisations.
Digital solutions specialist Fennel Media has teamed up with Absafe to create a new promotional video which reflects the broad range of sectors covered by the charity, including engagement with schools, businesses and community fundraising.
Based at the Thainstone Business Centre, near Inverurie, Fennel Media is a video production company that uses the latest technology to deliver the full range of filming and editing services in-house from its own creative design studio.
After developing a creative concept for the short film, the Fennel Media team spent a day filming youngsters from Turriff’s Fintry Primary School at Absafe’s Bridge of Don premises. They also interviewed Absafe board members, staff and volunteers to capture a flavour of the overall visitor experience.
The video, available to view on YouTube (http://bit.ly/2r9UwoG), will be shared with children from across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray, while promoting school visits to teachers. It will also support the charity’s corporate and community engagement efforts and aid its volunteer recruitment drive.
Jo McIntosh, operations manager at Fennel Media, said: “Supporting charities and social enterprises is something that we take great pride in here. Therefore, we were pleased to have been approached by Absafe to create a unique film that will hopefully make a major difference to the organisation.
“Absafe has a terrific facility and it was a real breath of fresh air to work with a training provider who provides learning in such a fun, interactive way. During the filming, it was clear to see how engaged the kids were to learn about the importance of keeping themselves safe.”
Absafe is the only charity dedicated to safety education in the north-east of Scotland and educates schools, communities and businesses on the fundamentals of safety awareness. Since its inception in 2012, the not-for-profit organisation has taught thousands of children, enrolled hundreds of volunteers and been supported by numerous corporate sponsors.
Laura McIntyre, marketing and corporate relations manager at Absafe, said: “Fennel Media has a great reputation for producing engaging, creative and high-quality films. Having seen the impact of previous videos delivered by the creative team, we were confident of receiving another excellent final product.
“The video depicts a typical school day here at Absafe with both children and volunteers alike enjoying the experience. Fennel Media really captured the element of fun that we pride ourselves on here which, ultimately, helps make sure these important life lessons stay in people’s minds long after the training has finished.”
