Leading national house builder and timber systems manufacturer Stewart Milne Group has won its seventh consecutive Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) gold award for occupational health and safety.
In recognition of the seven-year success, RoSPA will present the Stewart Milne Group with the prestigious Gold Medal Award at its Occupational Health and Safety Awards ceremony in Glasgow on Thursday September 15.
The award demonstrates Stewart Milne Group’s ongoing commitment to raising health and safety standards. RoSPA award winners must demonstrate a rigorous approach to occupational health, have proven, robust health and safety management systems and a reduction in the number of accidents.
Glenn Allison, chief executive officer of the Stewart Milne Group, said: “The safety and wellbeing of our employees is paramount and we continually strive to make our working environments, in the office, in the factory and on-site, the safest they can be.
“Receiving our seventh consecutive RoSPA Gold Award is testament to this commitment and reflects the hard work everyone across the group puts into ensuring their safety and that of colleagues.”
RoSPA’s mission to save lives and reduce injuries covers all ages and stages of life. The RoSPA Awards, which celebrate 60 years this year, recognise commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention at work.
Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards and events, said: “To win an award at such a highly-regarded event as the RoSPA Awards is a great achievement for organisations. It recognises their commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record and raises the bar for other organisations to aspire to. We offer Stewart Milne Group our congratulations.
“This year is doubly special for our winners as their achievements are recognised as the RoSPA Awards celebrates its diamond anniversary, which is a ringing endorsement of the thousands of businesses and organisations that have committed to continuous improvement in accident and ill-health prevention.”
Further demonstrating the group’s commitment to safety, three members of staff from Stewart Milne Homes received commended awards at the NHBC safety awards. Brenden Clarke, who is based at the Depenbech Rise development in Malpas, Nick Athorn, who is based at the Cookes Meadow development in Northwich and Mark Dwyer, who is based at the Courtyard in Dunblane, all received awards.
