The ongoing row between Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer and one of the party's longest serving MPs has continued with Diane Abbott seemingly calling Sir Keir a liar.
Posting on X, Ms Abbott said: "More lies from Starmer", referring to an article from the Guardian headlined: "Starmer on Abbott: 'I've actually got more respect for Diane than she probably realises'".
It's been alleged that the post was fake and photoshopped, however BBC reporter Nick Eardley confirmed he screenshotted the post prior to its deletion.
It comes as Ms Abbott insists she'll compete in the General Election as a Labour candidate, after reports last week said she wouldn't be allowed to.
The former shadow health secretary and home secretary was suspended from the party for over a year due to a racism row.
The party confirmed the whip was restored last week, while Mr Starmer seemingly dodged questions around whether Ms Abbott would be allowed to stand for Labour in her Hackney North and Stoke Newington seat.
However, he confirmed on Friday that she was "free to go forward as a Labour candidate".
Any hopes on brushing the argument under the carpet will have now vanished following the deleted post, though it's unclear whether it will impact on plans for Ms Abbott to stand for Labour.
