Robert Gordon University (RGU) will hold its annual Autumn Careers Fair for students and recent graduates next week.
A number of companies from a wide range of sectors will be exhibiting at the Fair on Thursday, October 29, which provides all students and recent graduates from both RGU and the University of Aberdeen with the opportunity to network with local, national and international employers.
The major recruitment event for undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as recent graduates of any university, aims to increase awareness of the range of graduate employment vacancies, training and work experience opportunities available, and offer advice on the type of talent recruiters are seeking and the application process.
Companies exhibiting range from global financial firms including Deloitte and KPMG, to the defence industry’s Royal Navy and Royal Air Force, public sector organisations and retailers such as Mothercare. The food and drinks industry will also have a presence with internationally renowned Scottish brewery firm BrewDog exhibiting.
Staff from the university's Careers and Employability Centre will be present to offer advice and guidance, and will be showcasing the university’s innovative ‘My Career Toolkit’, a comprehensive online careers education and management resource to support students prepare for employment.
Christine Buchanan, Dean of Students at RGU, said: “The Autumn Careers Fair is a significant recruitment event, and has attracted a wide range of local, national and international employers who are keen to engage with students and recent graduates from both of the city’s universities.
“Students and graduates will have the opportunity to meet informally with businesses to discuss graduate opportunities as well as placements, part-time, vacation and voluntary work, helping to enhance their employability in a competitive jobs market.
“The event not only supports students, but also benefits employers by providing them with an opportunity to raise awareness of their organisations while giving them access to a pool of well qualified graduate talent.”
The Autumn Careers Fair will be held on Thursday October, 29 from 11am to 3pm at RGU Sport located in the university’s Garthdee campus.
