A two-week restriction for buses and other large vehicles turning into Forresterhill Road from Ashgrove Road West has had to be brought forward due to the traffic signal refurbishment works being 1.5 weeks ahead of schedule.
The restriction will now start on Monday, November 5 and means buses, and other large vehicles, will only be able to access Forresterhill Road from the junction with Westburn Road. They will still be able to exit Forresterhill Road onto Ashgrove Road West but only if they are turning right.
Service buses which would normally access the hospital site from Ashgrove Road West will be diverting their services to drop off/pick up passengers within the turning area adjacent to the Cornhill Road entrance.
The works taking place are to replace and upgrade the traffic signals at the Ashgrove Road West/Forresterhill Road junction. Local widening works are being be carried out on Forresterhill Road which will improve the accessibility to the hospital site for public transport operators.
While the works are ongoing, there will be temporary traffic lights in place as the existing lights have been switched off.
The works at the junction are due to last for approximately seven weeks and while it is appreciated that they may cause a degree of inconvenience, every effort will be made to keep this to a minimum. Motorists are asked to avoid the area if at all possible.
