Over 80 top-ranked golfers from across the region have praised a popular North-east links course.
On Wednesday, February 12, the North-east of Scotland Golfers’ Alliance (NESGA) took part in the Kings Links Alliance competition at Golf Aberdeen’s Kings Links, run by award-winning charity Sport Aberdeen.
Sport Aberdeen runs four of the most stunning public 18-hole golf courses in the UK; the MacKenzie Championship Course, Hazlehead Pines, Balnagask and the Kings Links.
The Kings Links course, situated between the city and the sea, ensures a challenging round of golf offering spectacular views of the harbour and the North-east coast.
Nigel Spencer, Sport Aberdeen golf and outdoor services manager said:
“We were delighted to host this prestigious event at Kings Links last week. The unwavering efforts which the greens staff put in to keep the course in peak playing condition throughout the winter and adverse weather conditions is exemplary and this hard work is reflected in the upturn in its usage over the colder months.
“We hope that this glowing review from the NESGA will encourage more people, whether seasoned players or new to the sport, to take to the greens ahead of 2020’s golfing season and sample what the Kings Links and our other three courses across Aberdeen have to offer.”
Speaking of his recent round at Kings Links, Alan Gall, Secretary of the North-east Golfers Alliance said:
“Last Wednesday was the North-east Alliance's first visit to Kings Links for many years and our members enjoyed the experience very much.
“The greens staff had clearly made a big effort to present the course in best order for this time of year and we were lucky enough to avoid the adverse weather conditions affecting large parts of the country. We would like to extend our thanks to all for welcoming us on the day.”
