Last night, the Chamber’s neighbour Elevator (stairs also available) celebrated regional business and entrepreneurship at an awards ceremony attended by almost 400 guests at Ardoe House and sponsored by Royal Bank of Scotland.

In his very own irreverent but highly informed style, host Mark Durden-Smith took the assembled audience through the shortlisted businesses before the trophies were awarded after dinner.

Winners in included Chamber members TL Tech, who bagged the STV award and Jacqueline Law of Aberdein Considine who was named Entrepreneur of the Year. Boozy Events Company won in the Business Success Under 5 Years category while Appetite for Business took the Business Success Over 5 Years gong.

Sport Aberdeen scooped the Community Impact Award and the Royal Bank’s very own Nick Bansal was named Entrepreneurial Supporter of the Year.

The North-east is known around the world for its innovative people and businesses and is the best place in the UK to start and grow a business based on 5 year+ survival rates. It was great to see this tradition is alive and well today, despite the very many challenges of the last few years.
