R2S knowledge transfer appointment

Aberdeen-based visual asset management and digitalisation solutions specialist, Return To Scene Limited, part of James Fisher and Sons plc, is looking forward to delivering its award-winning software, R2S, to the construction and infrastructure sectors by welcoming a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) associate from Robert Gordon University (RGU).

The KTP project kick-started in August when the business welcomed Patrycja Linka as KTP associate. The two-year project will focus on the development and translation of the R2S software for the global construction and infrastructure industries.

Patrycja, who brings both academic and industry experience to the role, comments: “With the current requirement for Building Information Modelling (BIM) use on all public-funded projects, it is crucial to change the way our industry has been working. It is to embrace digital revolution to influence the traditional methods and technologies used in construction. The adaptation of R2S will offer the great opportunity to ensure the delivery of high-quality construction projects on time and within budget. The software, already bringing tangible benefits to the oil and gas industry, can be the answer to collaboration challenges and uninterrupted information flow between all parties involved in a project life cycle. From inception to project decommissioning/demolition, all the information need to be held within one hub to avoid errors and missing data affecting project schedule and budget, yet still commonly occurring.”
