ANM Group, one of Scotland’s leading and most active farming, food and finance businesses, announces the appointment of a prominent North-east farmer to its board
Norman Thow has farmed for more than 40 years in Denside, Auchenblae near Stonehaven and brings a significant wealth of knowledge and experience across the agricultural sector. He will attend his first board meeting at Thainstone on Tuesday, December 11, 2019.
ANM Group chairman Pete Watson, said: “Norman’s extensive farming background and commercial experience running a successful enterprise will complement the strength and diversity of the group’s board.
“I am confident Norman’s contribution will prove beneficial as we work together to set the future direction of ANM.”
Norman is a well-known and respected member of the farming community and can be regularly seen trading livestock at the Mart. He runs an extensive family farm operation in partnership with his brother and is supported by his wife and son in the day to day running of the business. The farm comprises of beef cows, store and finishing cattle, breeding and feeding sheep, as well as arable.
Norman said: “ANM is a unique business, and I am proud to be joining a co-operative with such a strong heritage of supporting its members, customers and the agricultural industry.
“In today’s changing environment and increased competition, we have to adapt and innovate to maintain and increase our market share. I look forward to contributing towards these goals and representing our members.”
