Aberdeen's vibrant culinary scene is set to become even more exciting with the kick-off of Restaurant Weeks, coinciding with the latest cohort of NESCol Professional Cookery students beginning their training at the College’s City Campus last week.
These aspiring chefs will have the opportunity to showcase their skills, honed in the state-of-the-art kitchens at NESCol.
The College's training restaurant, Gate 63, which is open on Thursday evenings and Friday lunchtimes, offers the public a taste of fine dining prepared by the students themselves.
Stuart Ferguson completed his studies at NESCol earlier this year and the talented young chef has already secured employment at one of Scotland’s eleven Michelin-starred restaurants. Stuart, from Fraserburgh, takes up a position as Commis chef at the renowned, The Peat Inn, near St Andrews this month.
Find out more about Stuart’s story and the professional cookery opportunities available at the College.
Aberdeen Restaurant Weeks not only celebrates the city's gastronomic offerings but also highlights the importance of nurturing new talent in the hospitality industry, which is a significant employment sector in Scotland.
With hands-on experience in a real-world setting, these students are poised to become the next generation of culinary experts. For those interested in exploring a career in this field, NESCol provides a range of full-time and part-time courses in Professional Cookery and Hospitality.
