Police officers in Scotland are to refuse to work more than their contracted shift hours in a dispute over pay.
By law, police in Scotland are not allowed to go on strike, instead making the decision to withdraw "goodwill" and work no extra before the start or after the end of their shift times.
The Scottish Police Federation (SPF), which represents rank and file officers, said the change would begin tomorrow, November 1.
In a letter to external chief constable Jo Farrell, SPF general secretary David Kennedy said the move came following "sheer disappointment" in the 4.75% pay offer, falling short of the requested 5.7% rise.
The federation confirmed, in a statement, that the decision had been made in order to "safeguard our members' health and safety.
It was been in a dispute with police bosses over pay and conditions, specifically the amount of extra hours worked by officers.
