Two Aberdeen-based corporate deal specialists are beating the drum for the North Sea energy sector at the world’s third largest oil and gas convention.
Pinsent Masons lawyers David McEwing and Fiona Kindness are attending ADIPEC in Abu Dhabi this week as part of a strong Scottish contingent.
The legal firm have been represented at ADIPEC for the last three years and believe the event is an ideal platform for Scottish oil and gas businesses looking to expand in to the lucrative Middle East market.
Mr McEwing, a partner in the Queen’s Road firm, said: “ADIPEC gives oil and gas sector businesses, and particularly those which have the advantage of working in the UKCS over the last 40 years, a chance to showcase their skills and technologies.
“It is also an opportunity to meet well-funded parties who may have an interest in capital investment in the many Scottish technology leaders which are a byword for quality, consistency and competency in the global oil and gas sector.”
Pinsent Masons’s large Aberdeen-based oil and gas team have built up strong links with colleagues based in the firm’s Dubai and Qatar offices, making it easier for ambitious north-east firms looking to do business in the Middle East.
Senior associate Fiona Kindness, who spent six months working in Pinsent Masons’ Dubai office, added: “The advantage of having legal advisors well versed in different Middle East jurisdictions is that they can cut through the bureaucracy and provide a smooth entry to new markets, which can otherwise be a stressful process for many businesses.”
