Peterhead has been awarded a further £20m from the UK Government over the next decade to regenerate its town centre.
Chancellor Jeremy Hunt announced £60m worth of "levelling up" investments across Scotland with the Blue Toon benefitting from a third of the total.
But Mr Hunt didn't outline exactly what the funding will be used for, though Michael Gove said it should be spent on "projects that matter most to local people".
It's the second £20m investment into the town from the UK Government is recent times, after the cash injection to transform Arbuthnot House was announced last year.
Banff and Buchan MP David Duguid has praised the contribution of the government. He said:
"The £20m will be transformational and will help develop a long-term plan for driving growth in the town and the surrounding area.
"Breathing new life into our town centres must be a top priority if we are to encourage people to come to this area and make this their home and place of work."
Where will it be spent?
Peterhead Port Authority (PPA) has already laid its claim to a share of the money as a means to create new jobs.
Stephen Paterson, PPA's chief financial officer, said: "A share of this money would help position ourselves to create new jobs.
"But we also recognise there will be needs elsewhere in the town and I’ve no doubt there will be projects coming to the fore."
