Former MP Kenny MacAskill has won the Alba leadership race following a close contest with party rival Ash Regan.
The contest was triggered following the sudden death of its party founder and former First Minister Alex Salmond who passed away in October.
Over 2,500 votes were cast amongst 5,002 eligible voters in the party.
Mr MacAskill beat his fellow candidate by 4% (52% to 48%) in the vote amongst members. He received 1,331 (52.3%) in his favour whilst Ms Regan had 1,212 (47.7%).
Former Alba MP Neale Hanvey was elected deputy leader with 78% of the vote, defeating ex-general secretary Chris McEleny.
The contest had been dogged by infighting after it emerged last month that Mr McEleny had been suspeneded from his role after being accused of gross misconduct.
Soon after the defeat, Mr McEleny published a statement on social media which said he will be launching legal action against the party, claiming his removal from the role was “unlawful."
He had previously accused MacAskill of bullying and harassment, accusations which the now-party leader dismissed in no uncertain terms.
