Verlume, a specialist in subsea power delivery and energy storage, has won the Outstanding SME Award at the Scottish Green Energy Supply Chain Awards.
In a ceremony at P&J Live in Aberdeen, Verlume was presented with the award for Outstanding SME, having also been a finalist across two other categories including Green Business Growth and Technology & Business Innovation.
The award win recognises Verlume as a pioneering organisation within the renewable energy market, pushing innovation boundaries, investing in people and collaborating with peers to add unique value to the supply chain.
Richard Knox, chief executive officer at Verlume, said: “It is fantastic to have won in the most applied for category and to have been recognised by Scottish Renewables as a leading organisation within Scotland’s renewable energy sector.
“With our company mission being to deliver clean energy to challenging locations, we are helping clients worldwide with power delivery challenges, whilst also enabling renewables integration, decarbonisation and increasing efficiency across the offshore environment. Thank you to Scottish Renewables and to our supporters, clients and friends for your continued support on our business growth journey.”
Claire Mack, chief executive of Scottish Renewables, added: “The Scottish Green Energy Supply Chain Awards are proud to support the nimble, agile, ambitious and innovative businesses, organisations and SMEs undaunted by the opportunity to deliver our new energy system.
“Hundreds of supply chain businesses are bringing their expertise across to the renewable energy industry while pushing new skills initiatives to grow, recruit and retain the people we will need in the future. The supply chain is a critical part of the vision we have for Scotland and the UK and I have been truly blown away by the ground-breaking work of this year’s finalists. Congratulations go to all off this year’s nominees, and of course the winners.”
