Thames Valley Chamber has been appointed national Co-ordinators for the recruitment of UK entrepreneurial businesses for the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) virtual Global Innovation Forum 2024.
The Global Innovation Forum (GIF) is a gateway to the Japanese market, which links global start-ups and innovators to Osaka businesses. The forum, which is in its sixth year, has seen several UK start-up, innovative businesses selected to participate in finding partners and investments for their products.
This year, OCCI is seeking six UK start-up businesses to participate and demonstrate UK Chambers involvement in the promotion of global trade and investment across the world. Businesses that specialise in the following sectors will be considered for the Forum:
- Augmented, virtual or mixed reality
- Robotics
- Agri/ food tech
- Health tech
- Green technology, carbon neutrality or new energy
- Digital transformation
- New materials
The forum activities will provide the successful applicants with access to a wide innovation network in Osaka, profiling to over 30,000 OCCI members and 700 GIF community members who are actively seeking investment.
Applications are free, and the successful business will be showcased in the GIF virtual exhibition. Participants will have the opportunity to virtually pitch their business to Japanese partners, with interpretation support provided by OCCI. Following the live pitch, Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Thames Valley Chamber will provide one to one support to businesses to ensure all opportunities are maximized.
Applications must be submitted by Monday, May 17, with successful applications notified by Monday, May 24.
