The chance to play a key role in the creation from scratch of a 3,000-home new community must be one of the more exciting project management opportunities in construction available in Scotland today.
The Stewart Milne Group is currently recruiting for a project manager to do just this with the new community of Countesswells, which will be built in a prestigious, green field location outside Aberdeen over the next 15 years.
The successful candidate will oversee the growth of homes, neighbourhoods and amenities that will contribute to the creation of an outstanding new community.
Countesswells will be an exciting and sustainable new community with its own identity. Located seven miles to the west of Aberdeen, the 410 acre site will comprise 3,000 homes, employment land and associated amenities including schools, shops and healthcare facilities.
The community will play an important strategic role in accommodating forecast population growth in Aberdeen and North-east Scotland to 2023 and beyond. The new community will deliver considerable social and economic benefits, including employment opportunities during construction and once complete.
The project manager will support the Countesswells project director in the delivery of the major enabling infrastructure works and site servicing provision required to meet the needs of the new community. It is anticipated that there will be three major phases of development at Countesswells and one of the Project Manager’s roles will be to manage the staging of the infrastructure through the initial years of the project and the long term development programme.
Countesswells project director Jim Fitzsimons said: “This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the largest development that we have ever undertaken. Our vision for Countessswells is to create an exceptional community in a beautiful setting which will cater for people of all ages through the carefully planned delivery of homes and amenities. As project management opportunities go, this really is a role where you will see a whole new community grow from a green field site, which will be challenging and rewarding.
“This is a role for an experienced professional and they will be joining a company with a strong team culture, excellent reputation, and best in class training and development opportunities, coupled with an attractive rewards package of salary and flexible benefits.”
