Oonagh Werngren, Oil & Gas UK's operations director, welcomed the opportunity to attend the official opening of Global Energy Group’s South Quay development at Nigg in Ross-Shire earlier today (September 18) in a ceremony conducted by Dr Andy Samuel, chief executive of the Oil and Gas Authority .
Ms Werngren said:
“Following our visit to the new South Quay development today, we recognise that this level of investment in fabrication facilities in North East Scotland represents a significant extension to current capabilities. Oil & Gas UK is committed to ensuring a sustainable long-term future for the UK industry supply chain and fabricators have a key part to play in the sector. It is important for companies to identify opportunities for adjusting to new market needs. Indeed, Oil & Gas UK publishes an annual fabricators directory to promote their capabilities and demonstrate the fabrication sector’s ability to serve a range of heavy industries, in addition to the UK oil and gas sector, in years to come.”
The new South Quay development at Nigg Energy Park Harbour comprises an industrial multi-user facility providing manufacturing and support services to a range of energy sectors which include oil and gas, and renewables.
