North-east legal firm, Raeburn Christie Clark & Wallace, have raised £1,400 for Sue Ryder at Deeview Court with a one-off charity gig at the Blue Lamp in Aberdeen.
The firm have a number of musically talented personnel that make up an in-house band called ‘Oldplay’. Friday, November 13 2015 saw them swopping their suits for denim, dusting off their guitars and warming up their vocal chords to give Aberdeen a night to remember.
The band, who normally play at the firm’s Christmas parties, is made up of current and former Partners and staff. The band is well named as it features a number of senior lawyers, including vocalist Brian Healy who is a former President of the Society of Advocates in Aberdeen.
In the lead up to the event the firm promoted the gig through various channels and the response and subsequent turnout on the night was fantastic. 140 people attended, and with tickets priced at £10 each, raised an admirable £1,400 for Sue Ryder in Deeview Court. Music included classic covers of everything from Little Richard and the Stones to Adele and Paolo Nutini.
In May 2015, Sue Ryder at Deeview Court in Aberdeen, was nominated as the firm’s current charity and the partnership will run until April 2017.
