NorthLink Ferries has scooped the “Best Ferry” accreditation at a national award at this year’s Guardian and Observer Travel Awards.
Held in Edinburgh on Friday, March 3, NorthLink Ferries was awarded the title of ‘Best Ferry’ at the annual ceremony which celebrates the best in travel and tourism services across the world.
Now in its 28th year, the national awards are separated into a range of 15 categories, with the public as well as the newspapers’ editorial teams voting for their top travel operators, accommodation providers and destinations.
Speaking of the award, Stuart Garrett, managing director of NorthLink Ferries, said: “We are extremely honoured to have received this prestigious national accolade. We’d like to thank everyone for their ongoing support and to those who voted for us. The award not only recognises NorthLink Ferries as ferry operator of choice, but helps to showcase Scotland, and indeed the Northern Isles, as an exciting UK tourism destination.”
Sponsored by VisitScotland this year, the awards were announced at a ceremony attended by the world’s top travel professionals.
The Guardian Travel Awards were announced ahead of Scottish Tourism Week, which ran from March 11 to 18.
