Stella's Voice (based in Peterhead) which operates homes in Moldova for children and young people at risk of being trafficked have opened their homes to refugees fleeing Ukraine. Along with housing and feeding refugees, the charity is also working with several Refugee Centres that have been setup to help the tens of thousands that have fled there.
Presently one in eight children in Moldova is a refugee (BBC news - March 12, 2022). The volume of refugees into Moldova has been overwhelming for such a small country.
Stella's Voice has already sent extensive funds to purchase extra food, bedding and other essential supplies to provide help immediately, and is also working to send trucks of aid from their bases in Peterhead and Hampshire over the coming weeks.
European Director, Mark Morgan said: "People have been so generous is bringing donations of urgently needed items - it's humbling. People have also been generous in making financial donations - it costs to send the trucks and there are some things needed on the ground in Moldova where only money can help".
Anyone wishing to make a donation can do so here: https://stellasvoice.org.uk/ukrainedonations
and a list of items needed for sending by truck can be found here: https://stellasvoice.online/ukraine-items.
