All places for a North-east business golf league being held for the first time in three years have been snapped up.

The launch of the DF Communications Business Golf League – which includes 30 teams – will take place at Trump International Golf Links next week. The event has been put on hold in the past two years due to CV19.

As well as raising money for a charity, the long-standing competition offers firms the opportunity to network, make new contacts and establish relationships with individuals from numerous different business sectors. This year's event brings together companies from the energy, technology and professional sectors as well as others.

DF Communications, an award-winning mobile phone and communications specialist to small, medium and large businesses, is the organiser of the league for the ninth time.

The opening event will see teams play their first fixture at Trump International Golf Links, Scotland, near Balmedie. The matches will take place on Tuesday, April 19 and Wednesday, April 20.

Following this, the remaining fixtures will be played at various courses across the north-east before the finals day in September. A fourball format is used in the league, with teams arranged into five groups of six. Winners and runners-up from each division then proceed to the final round which will be held at Trump International Golf Links in September.

Craig Forsyth, sales director at Aberdeen-based DF Communications, said: “We’re delighted to be back for the first time since 2019 and it’s great to be collaborating with Trump International Golf Links to host the inaugural fixtures and the final.

“It goes without saying that it has been a challenging time for many businesses around Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, and it is paramount that we work together and support one another as we emerge from the pandemic. The 2022 DF Communications Business Golf League presents a fantastic opportunity for local companies to do just that as they look to grow their business while networking with other firms.

“Our team is looking forward to welcoming everyone to such a world-renowned golf course and we hope they are able to make the most of this networking opportunity.”

A charity has yet to be confirmed to benefit from the league, but the organisers hope to make an announcement soon.

DF Communications has been operating in the telecoms sector for over 30 years, from its city centre offices on South College Street. It is an independent business mobile phone provider that works with all the major networks. In addition, DF provides cloud telephony and VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) services.
