The North-east’s leading business organisation today (Wednesday) invited businesses to nominate themselves as “Northern Stars”.
Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce is launching this year’s Northern Star Business Awards, which recognise companies around the North-east for exceptional accomplishments across a range of fields from energy to innovation, customer service to people development.
There are 12 award categories open to businesses keen to highlight their accomplishments in the thirteenth year of the awards.
The categories available for nominations are:
- Achievement in International Business
- The Business Diversity Award
- Commitment to People Development
- Commitment to Innovative Use of Research and Development
- Excellence in Customer Service
- Excellence in Health and Safety
- The Green Award
- Outstanding Contribution to Society
- Outstanding Contribution to the Energy Sector
- Overall Business of the Year
- Rising Star
- Student Placement
There is also a lifetime achievement award which is announced on the night.
Last year, Balmoral’s chairman and managing director James Milne CBE was handed this accolade for his outstanding contribution to the region.
He was joined by 39 finalists and 750 guests at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre as the Chamber
Chief executive at the Chamber Russell Borthwick said: “The Northern Star Business Awards are a highpoint for the Chamber, giving North-east businesses from every sector the opportunity to showcase and celebrate their success and achievements.
