Nominations are ongoing for the AAF Health & Humanitarian Awards

Asthma and Allergy Foundation, An Aberdeen based charity that that provides evidence-based health information, confidential advice and support to people with asthma, their families, carers and friends across the north-east of Scotland are hosting its first Health and Humanitarian Awards Ceremony. This Awards aims to honour the people who have made significant contribution to the many projects undertaken by the organisation. The Ceremony will also recognise people with a passion for helping others, including those who have invested hugely in creating opportunities to foster people development and organisations, local community groups as well as people whose lifelong commitment have made a significant difference in the provision of effective and efficient social care and healthcare services in our communities.

AAF Health and Humanitarian Awards want to know about people who have genuinely made a difference to your life or the lives of your family and friends. Or an organisation you know delivers outstanding Health and Social Care Services to the People of Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. Perhaps you have an outstanding boss and you want them recognised for going above and beyond to support everyone in the team. Or an individual who work tirelessly to improve respiratory care in Grampian.

We are celebrating the real difference people make within our communities. If you or someone you know has made a real difference, you can nominate them in any of the 6 award categories below:

Awards Categories and How to Nominate:

Making a Difference: This award recognises an individual who is committed to positive change within our communities. An individual who has shown exceptional quality, going above and beyond what is expected to make a difference to the lives of people and communities.

Big Impact Award: In recognition of an individual who has made substantial contribution and has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to and passion for their community. And also volunteer a significant amount of their time working within non-governmental and non-profit-making organisations, including charities, voluntary and community groups.

Chief Executive of The Year: This award is for chief executives who build fantastic teams, motivate and inspire them to provide life changing services to people within our communities. A chief executive who has made an outstanding contribution to his or her organisation, or the wider sector over the past year.

Work Experience Placement: This special Award recognises the important contribution businesses make to young people through their participation in the Work Experience Placement Programme in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions, Developing the Young Workforce and Skills Development Scotland. This Category is open to local businesses including third sector organisations.

Community Development Initiatives: In recognition of an organisation or community group whose staff and volunteers have gone the extra mile in developing projects that bring about a real change in our communities. This category will also recognise employees within organisations that provide excellent business development and fundraising support to charities and community groups.

Respiratory Leader Award This award recognises and honour individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the respiratory field, including research and those providing practical support to people with respiratory conditions.

How to Nominate

To nominate an individual or organisation for an award, please send your nominations to info@asthmaandallergy.org.uk

Your entry should be no longer than 700 words and clearly state the following:

  • Nomination Category
  • Name of Nominee
  • Name of Organisation (if applicable):
  • What have they achieved?
  • Why do they deserve to win?

Please note: Any information provided will be treated in the strictest confidence and will not be disclosed to anyone other than the panel of judges.

Deadline for all nominations is Friday, 16th August 2019.

The winners will be announced at a glittering black-tie Awards Dinner on Friday 6th September at AAF Main Auditorium, 1st Floor, Asthma and Allergy Foundation, Suffolk House, Pitmedden Road, Dyce, Aberdeen, AB21 0DP.
