NHS Grampian demonstrated a variety of internal and external communication and awareness methods. This included articles in newsletters, online information and managers training to promote the range of policies and support available to staff.

NHSG also worked in partnership with Aberdeen City Council, Barnardo's, Aberdeen Carers Support Service and ACVO in raising awareness of the carer's leave act that was implemented in April 2024.

NHSG also promoted events to local employers in June for national Carers Week, that focussed on the new Carers Leave Act and the benefits and importance of peer support.

Finally, NHSG asked employees to provide feedback on experiences of being an unpaid carer and testimonials were gathered to help to be more aware of their needs and to continue to improve communications and support.
