Zilift, leading developer of permanent magnet technologies for innovative artificial lift applications for the energy sector has signed an agreement with Auscoil.
Auscoil is an innovative and cost-effective oilfield services solutions provider for the Australian Coal Seam Gas (CSG) industry.
The two pioneering businesses have been collaborating for the past year, their work resulting in a coiled tubing deployment of a TorqueDrive - an electric submersible progressing cavity pump operating under live well conditions. The utilisation is an industry first for Queensland’s CSG sector.
This new method of completion, CoilDrive is free from rod strings, completion rigs and kill fluids and has the potential to revolutionise artificial lift processes for CSG in the region, and beyond.
Jamie Cochran, Zilift’s TorqueDrive director said: “Combining the benefits of Zilift’s magnetic gear technology and downhole drives with the advantages of live well coiled tubing deployment presents a number of unique and exciting opportunities.
“Working in this collaborative manner has led to the introduction of a truly innovative artificial lift completion, which has the ability to challenge conventional methods of artificial lift operations to dewater CSG wells. We’re delighted to have gotten to this stage, and consider the potential to be staggering.”
Diego Tarre Moser, general manager of Auscoil said: “We have been working closely with Zilift, sharing our teams’ extensive knowledge and international expertise, for over a year and are exceptionally pleased to be able to offer a solid solution to assist operators in increasing gas production and achieve improved run-life on their progressive cavity pumps.”
