New consulting division launched as Alistair Black joins the firm

Johnston Carmichael, Scotland’s largest independent accountancy and business advisory firm, today announced the latest addition to its client support services with the launch of its consulting business line.

Designed primarily for the Scottish corporate and SME market, the consulting team’s objective is to support businesses during periods of change, working alongside their in-house teams to deliver major performance improvement projects which generate significant and measurable bottom line impact.

The new practice is headed up by Alistair Black, a Chartered Management Accountant who has over 20 years of experience working in senior executive and consulting roles across a range of industrial sectors. Alistair spent 12 years with a global Japanese engineering and manufacturing business where he worked extensively in mainland Europe, Japan, South East Asia and North America. Since returning from the USA 10 years ago he has worked with a number of UK-based companies, most recently at CALA Group where he supported the Executive Board with a wide-reaching business integration project following their acquisition of Banner Homes. Prior to that, he spent two years at video security specialists Indigovision plc, serving initially as Interim Group CFO before taking responsibility for the company’s operations and quality functions.
