New business support group offers encouragement during tough times in Aberdeen

The Business Connection has been founded by four members of the local business community, and offers strength and encouragement for those in need of assistance when times are tough.

Founder Jim Grimmer said: “We hope to offer help and support to employees in Aberdeen, particularly those who are experiencing the effects of the industry downturn. The ever prominent threat of redundancy is starting to take its toll on people’s morale and mental wellbeing, as well as their health and financial security.

“During difficult times, it becomes more important than ever to work together. We provide strength and reassurance to fellow members of the business community, especially those who are struggling through this rough time.”

The group seeks to understand the problems and issues faced by working men and women of Aberdeen, helping to lift people back onto their feet and make positive changes to their lives.

Mr Grimmer continued: “As a group, we believe that Aberdeen’s corporate sector is often focused on hard work and personal gain, leaving little room for respite. By working collectively, we can improve the existing corporate culture and attempt to achieve the ideal work-life balance for everyone in the North-East.

“The aim is to create a less pressured, healthier corporate sector that is ultimately more sustainable and is attractive to the next generation of workers.

“The Business Connection aims to provide a much needed support network for those affected by difficult pressures at work. Our events will offer the chance to join with the wider business community, where we can work together to provide the support and assistance needed.”
