Hardies Property and Construction Consultants, Scotland’s largest multi discipline surveying firm with an office in Aberdeen at Spademill Lane, has announced that it has appointed a new senior associate building surveyor.
Gareth Cordiner (36) from Aberdeen, joins the firm to help develop Hardies Building surveying remit, as the firm expands in the North-east of Scotland from covering valuation work to offer a full spectrum of services to the business and construction community.
The Aberdeen office, which opened in 2012 is now two years into Hardies five year Master Plan to develop new markets in Aberdeen and Glasgow. The office doubled its turnover last year and is on course to double it again this year. The Aberdeen office is one of fourteen across Scotland.
Gareth, who was brought up in the City and attended Robert Gordon University where he studied Building Surveying, joins Hardies from Rydens.
He said: “I am delighted to have joined Hardies at this time. The firm is growing fast and I am excited to be part of growing and developing the building surveying side of the business. I’ve always worked in Aberdeen and bring to the table years of experience dealing with commercial clients. At Hardies we are now catering for all aspects of building surveying and we are confident of building the brand further as our name becomes increasingly well known.”

As Neil outlined, Hardies Aberdeen office has already been bolstered by the news that the firm has been appointed to Aberdeenshire Council’s framework for Building Surveyor services.
“It’s great news and our residential surveying sector is performing well too. It takes time to expand in a new area but we are strong on valuation surveying services so tend to start with this as a core business and then widen out to dedicated services like Project Management, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying and Health & Safety services.”
Hardies now offers many new services such as its Dispute Resolution Support Service, designed to provide clients in both the public and private sectors with an opportunity to resolve problems without adopting formal Dispute Resolution procedures.
