An Aberdeen business networking specialist has unveiled a packed event calendar for the New Year.
Aberdeen Business Network (ABN) hosts regular networking and business skills development events across the city each month and has promised an expanded programme for the coming year.
The business, which recently held its annual fundraising and awards night at Café Coast in Aberdeen in aid of Diabetes Scotland and the Gathimba Edwards Foundation, also runs a networking academy where participants learn how to effectively build contacts and in turn their business.
It also operates an innovative online business forum – ABNCommunity, which is akin to the North-east’s own LinkedIn where users can meet potential new clients, swap contacts and win new work. The site currently has more than 5,400 members – growing at a rate of around 100 per month.
ABN’s calendar of events kicks off on Tuesday, January 12 at Inspire on the Beach Boulevard with ABNCommunity for Business Development, a ‘how-to’ training session which has already helped members win more than £10million in new business.
The popular M4 networking event will meet on Tuesday, January 19 at the Atholl Hotel on King’s Gate in Aberdeen with the unique feature that every attendee will meet every other delegate in the room – guaranteed.
While an exclusive event for ABN Gold members will be held at 8848 Restaurant on Union Street on Tuesday, January 26 and the first F2F (face to face) Networking event on 2016 will take place on Tuesday, February 2 at the Copthorne Hotel.
Andrew Smith, director of ABN, said: “2015 was a great year for us and we are looking forward to building on that and offering an even greater calendar of events in the New Year.
“Despite the current downturn in the oil and gas sector it is not all doom and gloom in the North-east of Scotland and there are opportunities out there and attending events like ours lets businesspeople meet likeminded individuals and seek out new work.”
