Nailco moves into Aberdeen market with launch of second premises

CBRE has announced the letting of a prominent retail unit on Aberdeen’s Union Street to growing luxury beauty company Nailco Nail Bar.

Extending to 2,208 sq ft, 409 Union St has been let to Nailco on a five year lease. With an existing unit on Glasgow’s Hope Street, the Aberdeen outlet will be the nail bar’s second location, employing 14 full and part-time staff.

Amy Tyler, a surveyor at CBRE, commented: “It’s great news that Nailco has chosen to expand into Aberdeen. 409 Union Street offers excellent accommodation in a prime location, with a mixture of retail, office and licensed premises in the surrounding area. The new unit is in close proximity to the 200,000 sq ft of Grade A office accommodation at The Capitol and The Silver Fin Building, which will hopefully see an influx of potential regular customers to the area. The salon will be a well-received addition to Union Street and we are confident the business will go from strength to strength.”

Offering a full range of nail services and treatments, Nailco first opened in Glasgow in 2017. Awarded Scottish Nail Bar of the Year 2017 and 2018 at the Scottish Hair & Beauty Awards, the salon has also been featured in Vogue Magazine. The business is also teaming up with Aberdeen clinic Advanced Cosmetology, which will operate out of two treatment rooms at the back of the new salon.

Nailco owner Jayd Linney commented: “We’re very excited to be entering the Aberdeen market on the back of the success of our Glasgow outlet. With our clients ranging from students to professionals, the Union Street unit is ideally located to attract a wealth of new customers. We’re really happy with the fit out of our new unit ahead of our opening tomorrow, when we look forward to welcoming the people of Aberdeen into our luxurious salon where they can enjoy a range of relaxing treatments.”

Amy Tyler concluded: “It’s great to see another letting on Union Street. Recent activity, particularly towards the western end, has been very encouraging and we hope that it will boost occupier interest in the area, leading to further lettings.”
