At its annual Share Fair in Aberdeen today (November 4 2015) Oil & Gas UK announced that more companies than ever are demonstrating their commitment to improving the efficiency of their business practices by achieving awards in the Supply Chain Code of Practice tiered compliance scheme.
Oonagh Werngren, Oil & Gas UK’s operations director, said: “It is heartening to see 26 clients and suppliers from both the operator and contractor communities championing the Code’s principles of working more effectively together to streamline processes and improve business performance. This is a great example of how our industry is rising to the challenge of becoming more competitive in a low oil price world.
“Companies signing up to the aspirational Code are encouraged to demonstrate their compliance by improving the efficiency of commercial practices including speed of invoice payments, transparency of forward work planning and the use of standard contracts. It is fitting that we are recognising those companies leading the way in this area at Share Fair, where we are promoting to industry the importance of positive and co-operative behaviours to maximise economic recovery of our oil and gas reserves.”
The companies who have achieved an Award of Excellence in 2015 are AMEC Foster Wheeler, Apache North Sea Ltd, BP, Centrica Energy, Chevron North Sea, ConocoPhillips (U.K.) Ltd, EnQuest, Fairfield Energy, Petrofac, Talisman Sinopec Energy, Technip UK Limited, TOTAL E&P UK Limited and Wood Group PSN.
Gold awards were presented to Bibby Offshore Ltd, Nexen, Shell U.K. Limited, and Stork. Companies achieving Silver awards are AGR Well Management, Aker Solutions, BG Group, CNR International (U.K.), Dana Petroleum, Halliburton and TAQA Bratani Ltd with DEA UK and Marathon Oil U.K. earning a Bronze award.
