Montrose Port Authority has secured 45 acres of prime industrial land as it bids to become one of the country's key offshore energy hubs, The Courier has reported.
The organisation purchased Montrose Commercial Park from Equipco Investments Ltd in a deal worth millions of pounds.
The acquisition brings the total land owned by Montrose Port Authority to more than 100 acres, with 59 acres at the harbour already.
Situated on Forties Road, the commercial park site comprises the former Petrofac fire safety training facility and the Charleton House former maternity hospital, which has now been demolished.
The multi million-pound deal is part of Montrose Port Authority's plan to accommodate growing demand for space to support the offshore energy sector.
