Montrose-based Tekmar Group has announced a major new contract worth several million pounds.

The AIM-listed provider of products and solutions for the global offshore energy sector will deliver the cable protection system for an unnamed European windfarm project.

The project will commence immediately and be delivered in December 2025.

Alasdair MacDonald, CEO of Tekmar Group, said "This contract, where we are partnering with a new customer, is testament to our strong in-house engineering capabilities, which enable us to address customers' complex engineering requirements and optimise and de-risk projects.

"The award helps consolidate our strong position in the European offshore wind market and reflects the strength of our working relationships with project developers and key supply chain partners. We look forward to supporting our partners in successfully delivering this project."

Mr MacDonald will soon step down from his role at Tekmar and will be replaced by Richard Turner.

Mr Turner, the former boss of Geoquip Marine, will join Tekmar Group in September. An experienced CEO in the offshore energy sector, Tekmar said Mr Turner "has a strong track record of driving profitable growth" having held previous senior roles in BEL Valves and JDR Cable Systems.
