Global rig intake and inspection specialist ModuSpec is gearing up for a year of growth in 2025. With a healthy order book across the globe, the business has already announced £250,000 of contract wins with UK-based clients this year and has also launched its 2025 ModuSpec training course dates, delivered through its sister company, Well Academy.

To support the organisation’s growth strategy, ModuSpec has appointed a new business development manager for the Middle East, Europe and Africa region.

Ross Stephen – who has a strong knowledge of the market gained through 20 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas sector – will be based in ModuSpec’s Westhill-based office and training centre.

Having held a number of operational and sales roles based both in the UK and overseas with companies including NOV and MI-SWACO, Ross was latterly UK Sales Manager for RigQuip Drilling Services.

ModuSpec business development director, Liam Pirie, said: “We have already had a flying start to 2025 with a considerable number of contracts secured in the UKCS on the back of a very strong end to 2024 with project wins in the Middle East and North Africa region.

“This year is all about consolidating and building on this growth and we are delighted to bring Ross onboard to help drive this. His experience and knowledge of the market will be extremely valuable as we reinforce the value of our broad service offering both locally in the UK and North Sea, and throughout the broader EMEA region.

“We look forward to introducing Ross to our existing client base over the coming weeks, especially as we continue to push the industry-accredited and associated rig equipment training services now on offer via our new Well Academy training facility in Aberdeenshire, as well as our ever-expanding suite of rig and vessel equipment inspection, assurance and monitoring services.”

Ross added: “ModuSpec has a great reputation in the industry and I’m excited to join the team as the company continues to expand, not only in the EMEA region but globally. I look forward to supporting the growth strategy for ModuSpec as well as for the training solutions delivered by Well Academy.”
