ModuSpec has secured several contracts to support existing and new clients in Sub-Saharan Africa, representing significant international growth in a key strategic region for the company.
Contract wins totaling over £350,000 include four jack-up intake projects and one land-based scope.
The ModuSpec team is currently supporting the redeployment of a rig from the USA to Angola for a campaign of both exploration and development wells.
Two projects are ongoing with jack-ups due to be redeployed to Nigeria from the Middle East, with provision of multi-staged rig intake support to the operators, including assessment of the contractors’ health, safety and environmental management systems.
In Congo, ModuSpec is preparing to support the selection and acceptance of a land-based hydraulic workover unit with a campaign of at least 20 wells per year.
In Gabon meanwhile, a team of multi-discipline surveyors has been deployed to verify if an operational jack-up will meet operator internal standards for drilling offshore Equatorial Guinea, including the effectiveness of the rig to achieve zero discharge.
Mark Watson, operations director with ModuSpec, said: “Africa is a key region for our business, indeed in the past five years alone we have completed over 110 projects on the African continent both onshore and offshore. Our business development and technical teams have worked hand-in-hand to secure these new projects, each with its own customised solution.
“Our discipline-specific surveyors are onsite now, at the drilling contractors’ offices and also at rig sites. A big thank you also goes to our clients for keeping their trust in ModuSpec to deliver what is a complex and critical part of their preparation to safely commence operations.”
