Kayleigh’s Wee Stars’ (KWS) first ‘Million Pound Ball’ dinner and dance at Thainstone Centre, Inverurie has officially sold out. Tickets for the event went on sale on October 31, 2022, and in just over one month 400 tickets have been sold.

The evening, on March 18, 2023, will mark 10 years of the charity, and the milestone of raising £1million during that time. These funds have provided much-needed financial support to hundreds of families with a child with a terminal diagnosis.

Huntly Pipe Band will welcome guests, who are set to enjoy a three-course meal, a silent auction and dancing to award-winning Scottish band, ‘Splendid Gentlemen’. Some amazing prizes can be won at the auction, including a 4 ball at the Duke’s course, St Andrews and a night’s stay in the lodge, B&B for 2 at the Plockton Hotel and a Formula One racing car experience at Knockhill.

Fiona Heinonen, KWS CEO, said: “I think it’s an amazing achievement for the Trustees, Kayleigh’s Wee Stars’ and all their supporters, to have sold out the ‘Million Pound Ball’ in just over one month. We should be so proud of what we have all achieved together in Kayleigh’s memory, and I look forward to meeting many of our supporters at the Million Pound Ball.”

Jonathan and his wife Anna set up Kayleigh’s Wee Stars in 2012 to provide financial support for families where a child has a terminal illness. When their daughter Kayleigh was diagnosed in December 2011, they took time off work, vowing to make her last few months as special and memorable as possible. They set up the charity to help relieve the financial pressure on other families like theirs, at the most challenging time in their lives.

Jonathan Cordiner, KWS co-founder and Kayleigh’s dad, said, “2022 was the 10th anniversary of Kayleigh’s Wee Stars - a special milestone for our charity. We are proud to have done so much good in Kayleigh’s name.

“We are so very grateful for all the local support, especially to our gold sponsor, Bold St Media, as well as our silver sponsor, Luxe Scot. We would also like to thank our print sponsor, Jasmine, for all their help. We couldn’t achieve any of this without all our support and donations over the years, and as ever we are humbled by the generosity of our supporters”.

KWS are still looking for auction prizes to be donated as well as sponsors for the event. You can find out more at: KWS Million Pound Ball 2023 | Powered by Givergy
