Two more comedians ‘In the Frame’ for comedy festival

Two more outrageously funny comedians join the Aberdeen International Comedy Festival line-up which returns to the city from October 6-16, 2022.

Legendary comedian, broadcaster and author Harry Hill and festival favourite Sofie Hagen have been announced as the latest acts added to the festival’s line up next October.

A 27-year-old from Dunfermline with ambitions to forge a new career in the energy industry has been named 2021 Apprentice of the Year by global energy safety and skills organisation, OPITO. He is now set to continue his training at the Fife Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) plant, Mossmorran with his sponsor Shell UK.

Ocean Plastic Pots help to turn the tide, following Business Gateway support

A business that specialises in sustainable plant pots, made from end-of-life rope and finishing net increased business operations substantially following support from Business Gateway.

Founded by former North Sea Saturation diver Ally Mitchell in January 2021, Ocean Plastic Pots is the first business in the world to sell plant pots made from end of life or discarded fishing gear, and plastic fish boxes.

Shell expands its global renewable power business

Shell New Energies US LLC, a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell plc (Shell), has signed an agreement to buy 100% of Savion LLC (Savion), a large utility-scale solar and energy storage developer in the United States, from Macquarie’s Green Investment Group. With this acquisition, Shell expects to significantly expand its global solar portfolio.

Hall Morrice fill newly created senior position

Accountancy firm Hall Morrice has made a senior appointment to the newly created role of tax director. Chris Colville, originally from Turriff and a graduate of the University of Edinburgh, has most recently been a business tax associate director at a big four firm. Prior to this, Chris worked across Scotland in two large national practices.
