Robert Gordon University’s (RGU) midwifery team will host an open evening next month for members of the public to find out more about the course and meet the midwives of the future.
The Midwifery Open Evening will be held on Friday, May 6 from 6pm to 7.30pm at the university’s Faculty of Health and Social Care in Garthdee.
Online registration is required to attend the free event and light refreshments will be provided.
Following a short talk there will be a chance to meet lecturing staff and students currently studying Midwifery at RGU and hear about their experiences.
Midwifery lecturer Liz Treasure, course leader for the Bachelor of Midwifery at RGU, worked with colleagues to organise the event and is expecting significant interest from Aberdeen and across the North-east.
She said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming members of the local community to our Midwifery Open Evening. It’s a great chance to meet the midwifery team as well as students and their placement mentors.
“It you are interested in training to become a midwife at RGU we would love to meet you and discuss the options and opportunities available.”
The open evening will also feature displays for the new Baird Family Hospital in Aberdeen and also celebrate the RGU Midwifery Team’s UNICEF Baby Friendly Accreditation for the course.
Children and young people are welcome to attend the event but under-16s must be accompanied by an adult.
Online registration for the event is available via: www.rgu.ac.uk/events/midwifery-open-evening-2016
