Matrix Risk Control kits out training provision with IOSH accreditation

Incident investigation specialist Matrix Risk Control has gained Institution of Occupational Health & Safety (IOSH) accreditation for its two-day incident investigator’s toolkit training course.

The accreditation follows a rigorous three-month application process and provides the course, which is delivered in a variety of countries, with recognition from a chartered body for the health and safety profession.

The two-day incident investigator’s toolkit course was developed by Matrix Risk Control for staff members who are responsible for undertaking incident investigations on behalf of their employer. Its content provides participants with the skills required to perform structured, thorough investigations into incidents relating to safety, the environment, equipment failures or quality.

Established in 2008 with headquarters in Aberdeen, Matrix Risk Control offers a range of training and support services surrounding root cause analysis, incident recording and incident investigation. The recent accreditation of its incident investigator’s toolkit course complements IOSH certification for two of its instructors, Craig Smith and John Richardson, who are now qualified to teach any IOSH-approved course.

Alan Smith, Matrix Risk Control director, said: “We want our clients across all continents to have complete confidence in the quality of training they receive. Gaining accreditation from IOSH - the world’s largest professional health and safety organisation - is an important part of this process.

“We are also acutely aware that many of our clients have their own quality standards to adhere to. Providing them with internationally-recognised training programmes will hopefully support these efforts.”

Matrix Risk Control specialises in the core areas of root cause analysis, incident recording and incident investigation. The company, which was founded by former senior police investigators in 2008, helps organisations manage many major forms of operational business risk.
