Marc Eddie, a systems analyst with ENI, is raising vital funds for the social care charity Cornerstone, in memory of his late brother Shaun who lived in Peterhead.

Marc explains: “Cornerstone were so good for Shaun, and the difference they made from day one until the day we lost him, was transformative.

"When he was younger my mum had to do a lot for him but when he was with Cornerstone, he became so independent.

"Obviously, he had carers helping him, but he was doing so much for himself. And so, if I was going to raise money for any charity, Cornerstone seemed like a very good choice.”

Marc donned his first Cornerstone t-shirt in 2023 to run the Edinburgh Marathon. Not content with that, he went on to complete the Three Peaks Challenge, scaling the tallest mountain in Scotland, Wales, and England; Ben Nevis, Snowdon, and Scafell Pike, walking a total 23 miles including a 10,052ft of vertical ascent, all within 24 hours.

But he wants to do even more. With a love for hill walking, Marc will be tackling the 154km of the West Highland Way on Friday, September 6 to Sunday, September 8.

He will then run the Frankfurt Marathon on October 27.

Everyone at Cornerstone is incredibly proud of Marc and wish him well with his 2024 fundraising efforts in memory of Shaun.
