A major event, designed to stimulate an innovative discussion on the economic future of Aberdeen city region, will take place at Robert Gordon University (RGU) on Wednesday 25 November 2015.
The event, “Aberdeen, Scotland - the Next Chapter” and sponsored by Baker Tilly, RBS and ACSEF, is part of RGU’s commitment to the city-region and aims to support the Aberdeen City Deal by engaging local, national and international leaders to come together to help shape a new economic direction for the Aberdeen city region.
Professor Ferdinand von Prondzynski, Principal of RGU said: “A re-energised Aberdeen city region represents one of the greatest social and economic opportunities for Scotland today. Indeed, it has been said that when Aberdeen prospers, Scotland prospers. The Aberdeen story has long been one of enterprise and innovation, and of international reach and impact. This event is creating an opportunity for us to influence and provide direction for Aberdeen’s economic future.”
Supported by strategic partner Baker Tilly, the university has been engaging with stakeholders from around the region and beyond. The programme in November will include interactive discussion and presentations from a specially selected team of local, national and international experts and contributors who can provide valuable perspectives to these important discussions.
Ewan Grant, Baker Tilly’s Head of Corporate Finance in Scotland said, “The event is well-timed with Aberdeen currently addressing the new economic and geo-political realities of the global energy market and what it means for the future of the city-region. We’re delighted to be supporting RGU in delivering this innovative event which will provide important direction for the next steps in our economic development.”
