Nominations for the recently-launched Oil and Gas Authority MER UK Award, however, will remain open until Wednesday, September 2.
The ninth annual Oil & Gas UK Awards, sponsored by Shell U.K. Limited, will take place at Aberdeen’s Exhibition and Conference Centre on the evening of Thursday, November 5 and will celebrate the most outstanding companies and inspirational people working in the offshore oil and gas industry.
With the company awards, the Oil & Gas UK Awards for Investment in People and for Business Innovation, split into two categories, one for large and the other for smaller companies, this year’s awards will again encourage a more diverse range of players in the sector to share their achievements.
The Oil and Gas Authority MER UK Award introduced this year seeks to highlight large and small companies whose cooperative approach and positive behaviour have helped to maximise economic recovery of oil and gas from the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS).
Outstanding individuals will also be recognised with the long-standing awards for Mentor of the Year, Apprentice of the Year and Graduate of the Year all being announced on the night.
Stephen Marcos Jones, Oil & Gas UK’s business development director, commented: “Outstanding individuals and companies are required more than ever in this challenging business environment to lead the way to an efficient, safe and sustainable future for the sector. It is clear from the nominations we’ve received so far that a remarkable amount of talent is out there and we want to hear of more. We hope that by granting requests for this extension, we’ll be giving the companies and individuals leading our industry the best opportunity to promote their achievements.”
