Maggie’s Centre Aberdeen is holding its first ever Diamond Hunt on September 7. Participants will be in with the chance to win a £5,000 loose certified diamond, kindly donated by Finnies the Jeweller of George Street.
Maggie’s Diamond Hunt is a fun treasure hunt for everyone. There are plenty of prizes up for grabs. In addition to the winner scooping the £5,000 diamond, Finnies has also donated 10x £100 gift vouchers for the runners up.
The hunt will start and finish on the Roof Terrace Garden (above St Nicholas Centre). Every penny raised will go to support people affected by cancer in the North-east.
On arrival the hunters will receive scorecards with a set of clues. Once all the clues have been solved, scorecards with the correct answers will go into a prize draw for the diamond and the gift vouchers.
Paula Cormack, centre fundraising manager for Maggie’s Aberdeen, said: “The Diamond Hunt is the first event of its kind for Maggie’s Aberdeen and the prizes that can be won are incredible. This will be a great day out to enjoy with family and friends and in addition to the hunt, there will be delicious food and drink options with some great live music.
“This event has great support from the main sponsors Finnies and Repsol Sinopec and the Maggie’s team is very grateful for their generous involvement to help raise vital funds for the Centre.”
Dominique Dawson, third generation of the Finnie family, at Finnies said: “We are delighted to be part of this inaugural event and are grateful to the team at Maggie’s for allowing us to help support the wonderful work it does. The entire team here at Finnies wish the very best of luck to everyone taking part and we look forward to welcoming the successful ‘treasure hunters’ into Finnies very soon.”
Drew Russell, chief product officer with Repsol Sinopec, said: “This is a great way for our team at Repsol Sinopec Resources UK to help raise awareness and funds for a brilliant charity like Maggie’s. We are delighted to be supporting this event so that Maggie’s can continue to provide support to people in the North-east who have been affected by cancer.”
