Douneside House, in Tarland Aberdeenshire, has made the final shortlist for the 2017 Condé Nast Johansens Hotel Awards for Excellence in the ‘Best Newcomer/Back on the Scene’ category.
Created to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across the hotels, spas and venues, the Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence are a trusted mark of quality, recognised by luxury consumers and travel professionals alike.
Douneside House was officially re-opened on the July 11, 2016 by HRH Prince Michael of Kent following a significant investment by owners, The MacRobert Trust.
The renovation included a transformation of the interior and exterior facilities, such as all guest bedrooms, the restaurant, conservatory and other public spaces within the main house, as well as on-site holiday cottages and apartments. The newly refurbished health club now features a fitness gym with newly upgraded equipment, a swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam and sauna rooms and aerobics studio.
The conferencing facilities were also upgraded with state-of-the-art equipment installed.
