The Bridge of Don safety education and risk awareness charity is in the running for Aviva Community Fund, but needs the public to vote to ensure Absafe is entered into the next round.

Absafe teaches the fundamentals of personal safety and has educated more than 2000 children in the last year. Its immersive style of learning has won awards, most recently the charity scooped the Outstanding Contribution to Society title at this month’s Aberdeen and Grampian Northern Star Business Awards.

Voting closes on November 21, with finalists revealed by the end of the month.

Chief executive Emma Bellu said: “We need the help of the local community to help us secure vital funding. We’re looking for between £10,000 and £20,000 from the Aviva Community Fund to allow us to continue to provide essential safety lessons for the young people of the north-east of Scotland.”
