Safelift Offshore and Safetrade 247 are excited to announce a joint fundraising initiative that has raised £2,631 for the local charity Abernecessities, dedicated to supporting children and families in need across the North-east of Scotland.

Employees from both companies took on the challenge to run, jog or walk 100 kilometres each throughout the month of November. This collective effort not only emphasized their commitment to giving back to the community but also encouraged team members to stay active and support each other along the way.

“Our team has always been inspired by Abernecessities and the vital work they do to support local families facing hardships,” said Thomas Innes, managing director at Safetrade 247. “This challenge allowed us to contribute in a meaningful way while also encouraging personal wellness among our teams.”

With each kilometer logged, participants showed determination and solidarity for the cause, motivated by the difference their combined efforts could make. The funds raised will go directly to Abernecessities to help provide essential items for children who need them most.

“It was fantastic to see our teams come together for such a worthy cause,” added Steven Simpson of Safelift Offshore. “Every step we took, whether walking, jogging, or running, was aimed at helping make a difference right here in our community.”

Abernecessities expressed gratitude for the generous contribution, highlighting how the funds will support their mission to ensure no child goes without the basic necessities. With over 24% of children in Aberdeen living in poverty, initaives like this are vital to the community.

Earlier this year the team at Safetrade 247 had supplied new storage equipment for Abernecessities new premises at Union point where they will operate their ‘Believing in Magic ’ campaign to ensure no child in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire goes without essentials this festive season. This year, the charity aims to bring the joy of Christmas to over 5,000 local children living in poverty.
