Women's underwear heavyweight Victoria's Secret is lining up plans to move into Aberdeen's Union Square - with a £500,000 unit refit on the cards.

Following the announcement that Superdry is to close it's Union Square store, Victoria's Secret has submitted plans to Aberdeen City Council to refit the soon-to-be-vacant unit.

If approved, Victoria's Secret will look set to open its third Scottish store in the city, adding to its shops in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Meanwhile, the Scottish government has overturned Aberdeen City Council's refusal of planning permission for a Wendy's drive-thru in Stoneywood.

The American burger giant now looks set to open its second location in the Granite City with the Alba Gate redevelopment.

Councillors had voted to block the plans in May, but government officials have stepped in to green-light the project with a view to protecting the site from further vandalism.
